The Pursue Your It Project

A passionate motivational message that shows you the power of a nail, a mirror, and a seed.

THE PROJECT

Pursue Your It, Inc. is a nonprofit, 501c3 organization established effective August 24, 2016 to promote college and career readiness beginning with late elementary-aged students. Our program works best with students from age ten through twenty-one. The program is aligned to the new social and emotional learning benchmarks for New York State schools. These benchmarks include developing self-awareness and self management skills essential to success in school and life; using social awarenss and interpersonal skills; establishing and maintaining positive relationships, demonstrating ethical decision-making skills; and learning responsible behaviors in personal, school, and community contexts. The lessons and activities directly target the individual learning standards for each social and emotional learning benchmark.

Course Outline Letter of Support

The Pursue Your "it" Project has been created to inspire, educate and challenge students to pursue their personal potential. The program is delivered as a stand-alone keynote, school assembly, six week curriculum, half day workshop, full day seminar, or online learning program.

Our Mission is to inspire, challenge, and encourage those who seek their potential, passion, and purpose in life. We encourage people to see the endless possibilities available to them if they commit to their personal growth, while becoming accountable and dedicated to themselves and their goals no matter what their circumstances may be.

The program begins with a motivational message and ends with the challenge to participate in the Pursue Your It Project. The system can be implemented throughout your life, reminding and teaching you the fact that you have the freedom to make choices that can change your life.

The Process

Exposure to the project starts in a group setting; a school assembly, meeting room, or a gymnasium. Cindy Miller shares her story of resilience, tenacity, and determination on the way to becoming one of the best teachers/players of the game of golf in the world. She reveals "The it Box" and challenges her audiences to pursue their personal "it". If they choose to participate they will complete online behavior, motivation, and learning style assessments. The eight week course will be delivered online. Once the program is completed, there will be a graduated ceremony for each school.

Follow Up

Once a student completes the program, there will be ongoing follow up. Our mission is to be sure students stay with "It" their whole life. Student Ambassadors will be in the field creating long lasting relationships with each student who completes the program.

WHAT WE NEED

  • $500,000 to influence 4500 lives

  • Assessment Sponsor $135,000

  • Workbook Sponsor $13,500

  • Graduation Sponsor $162,000

We need to raise $500,000 to deliver the program to approximately 4500 students in 45 middle schools throughout Buffalo Public Schools. Students will complete both a personality behavior report and motivator assessment which will teach them who they are and what motivates them to action. Our program requires workbooks for each student as they keep track of their progress, homework assignments, and plan their personal success. Graduation is held at the end of the program. Students receive The Pursue Your It Medallion Coin, Graduation Certificate, and YouNeaklyMe hooded sweatshirt.

Purpose

We believe everyone has talent. It is up to each individual to learn about themselves; their motivation, their personal behavior style, and what fires them up about life. When they take the time to do that, they will be more willing to work towards their goals.

Where have we been?

Our programs have been delivered in: The Buffalo Promise Neighborhood, Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Erie County, Silver Creek Central School, Martin Road Elementary School in Lackawanna, New York, Cleveland Hill Middle School, and South Buffalo Charter School. We are on a mission to make a difference in the lives of every child everywhere. Will you help us make that happen?

Passion

It all starts with "WHY". Why are you here? What do you want? How will you get "it"? Are you willing to work? If so, LET'S DO THIS!

Possibilities

Once you take the time to be introspective and learn who you really are, there are endless possibilities for you to live a more fulfilling life. "IT" can be found!

"I can certainly relate to a story about a person from humble beginnings who has overcome obstacles. Cindy Miller has beaten the odds and achieved more than and beyond even her own expectations. Her story is told to encourage others through their own personal struggles in sport, business and life. She desires to help people maximize their own personal potential. To hear it is to be inspired."

Jim Kelly
NFL Hall of Fame

"When I think of Cindy Miller, I automatically smile. She has the ability to make you laugh at her, with her, and at yourself. She is a survivor, a coach, a wife, a Mom, and one of the most genuine friends you will ever meet. Knowing what she has overcome on her road to her success only increases the admiration I already had for her. I wouldnā€™t expect her to hold anything back when she tells her story, and luckily for us, she didnā€™t."

Michael Whan
LPGA Commissioner

"It takes a lot of courage to write about the ups and downs of personal and family life. Cindy Miller has done just that in creating The Pursue Your It Foundation. As you learn about Cindy's life journey, the thing that will stand out the most is her determination and desire to succeed. I believe her inherent "never give up" attitude helped her to navigate the trials and tribulations and achieve her goals. Hopefully those who participate in her programs will be touched and inspired by Cindy's spirit and will benefit as well in their own lives."
